24V LED headlight bulbs for trucks: a wholesale buyer guide
Which ShinVea LED headlight bulbs run on 24 V trucks, what 9–36 V input means, 12 V vs 24 V versions of BT150 and DT150, and how to order for fleets.
Short answer: most ShinVea LED headlight bulbs accept a 9–36 V DC input, so the same part works in 12 V cars and 24 V trucks. That covers the BT, DT, XT, M, MINI and DX300 series. The two flagship models, BT150 and DT150, are sold as two separate versions: one for 12 V cars and one for 24 V trucks. The compact Q58 has a narrower range and is not a truck bulb. If you supply fleets, transport companies or truck workshops, stock 24 V-capable SKUs and confirm the socket and CANbus needs for each vehicle before you order.
Why 24 V matters for truck lighting
Passenger cars and light pickups run a 12 V electrical system. Most heavy trucks, buses and many commercial vehicles run 24 V. A bulb built only for 12 V may overheat or fail early on a 24 V system, and a cheap driver may flicker when the alternator voltage moves around under load.
For a distributor this is a returns problem as much as a technical one. A truck owner who buys a "universal" bulb that fails after a week does not come back. Stocking bulbs with a documented wide-voltage input, and labelling the truck versions clearly, avoids most of these complaints.
Which ShinVea LED bulbs work on 24 V
All figures below come from ShinVea factory spec sheets. Lumens and colour temperature are customizable on request for most series, so they are not listed here.

BT150 and DT150: order the right version
The BT150 and DT150 are the highest-output bulbs in the range. Each starts at 150 W and settles to a stable 120 W per bulb on Sanan 4575 chips with an external driver, and both are IP68 rated. Although the input range is 9–36 V, ShinVea sells them in two versions: 12 V for cars and 24 V for trucks. When you place an order, write the version on every line of the purchase order and ask for the carton label to show it. Mixing the two in one shipment without clear labels is the fastest way to get warranty claims.
Wide-voltage models for mixed fleets
The BT100, BT80, DT80, XT80 (APP), M9, M8 Pro, MINI and DX300 list a 9–36 V input for 12 V cars and 24 V trucks. For a wholesaler serving both passenger and commercial customers, these models let one SKU cover both markets, which keeps stock levels lower.
- BT80 / DT80: mainstream output for everyday truck and pickup upgrades.
- M9 / M8 Pro: value range for high-volume replacement programmes.
- DX300: LED replacement for factory D1S, D2S, D3S, D4S, D5S and D8S HID bulbs, for trucks and buses that came with xenon.
Where the Q58 fits (and where it doesn't)
The Q58 is a compact plug-and-play bulb close to halogen size with a built-in 12,000 RPM fan. Its spec sheet lists DC 11–30 V for the H4 version and DC 12–16 V for H7 and H11. Treat the H7 and H11 Q58 as 12 V car bulbs only, and keep them out of truck orders.
Sockets that trucks commonly use
Truck headlamps use the same standard bases as cars, but the mix is different by market and brand. ShinVea's main series are available in:
- Single-beam: H1, H3, H7, H11, 880/881, 9005/9006 (HB3/HB4) and 9012 (HIR2).
- Dual-beam: H4 (9003/HB2), H13 (9008) and 9007 (HB5).
- HID replacement: D1S, D2S, D3S, D4S, D5S and D8S with the DX300.
Ask your customers for the code printed on the original bulb, or check the bulb size guides on our site before quoting.
Checklist before you quote a truck customer
- System voltage. Confirm 12 V or 24 V. Do not assume: some light trucks and vans are 12 V.
- Bulb base. Get the code from the old bulb (for example H4 or H7).
- Space behind the headlamp. High-output bulbs with an external driver need room for the driver and the dust cap.
- CANbus. Some newer trucks monitor the bulb circuit. The spec sheets list a CANbus version for the BT150, BT80 and M8 Pro; confirm per vehicle (see our CANbus FAQ).
- Local rules. LED retrofit bulbs may not be approved for road use in every country. Check your market's regulations.
OEM and private label for truck lines
If you sell under your own brand, a separate truck line is easy to build. ShinVea's OEM programme has an MOQ of 2,000 pairs, and models can be mixed, so you can split one order between 12 V car versions and 24 V truck versions. Packaging is fully customisable (your logo, your box design, or neutral), and lumens, colour temperature and the logo on the bulb body can be customized. Standard terms are a 40% deposit with the 60% balance after inspection and before loading. Bulbs go through aging racks and pre-shipment inspection, and every product carries a warranty of at least 1 year. See OEM & private label for the full process.
Samples are available: the sample fee is paid upfront and refunded when you place your first order.
Many truck and 4x4 customers also upgrade to bi-LED projector lenses; see the 12 V lens range and 24 V-on-request options at shinvealens.com.
FAQ
Can I use a 12 V LED headlight bulb on a 24 V truck?
Only if the bulb's input range covers 24 V. Most ShinVea series list 9\u201336 V DC, which covers both. The BT150 and DT150 are sold as separate 12 V and 24 V versions, so order the 24 V version for trucks.
Which ShinVea bulb is brightest for trucks?
The BT150 and DT150 have the highest power in the range: 150 W at start and 120 W stable per bulb. Order the 24 V truck version.
Is the Q58 suitable for 24 V trucks?
The H7 and H11 Q58 run on DC 12\u201316 V, so they are for 12 V vehicles. The H4 Q58 lists DC 11\u201330 V. For trucks, the BT, DT or M series are the safer choice.
Do truck LED bulbs need a CANbus decoder?
Some newer trucks monitor the bulb circuit and may show a warning or flicker. CANbus versions are listed for the BT150, BT80 and M8 Pro; confirm per vehicle model and year.
Can I mix 12 V and 24 V models in one OEM order?
Yes. The OEM MOQ is 2,000 pairs and models can be mixed, so one order can include car and truck versions.
What warranty do the bulbs have?
All ShinVea products carry a warranty of at least 1 year.
