9005 / 9006 LED Headlight Bulbs

9005 (HB3) and 9006 (HB4) are single-filament headlight bulbs used on many Japanese, Korean and American vehicles. 9005 usually runs the high beam and 9006 the low beam or fog light, often in the same headlamp. ShinVea supplies them as one LED model: the same 9005/9006 LED bulb fits both sockets, so distributors stock one SKU instead of two.

Fitting notes

On halogen bulbs, 9005 and 9006 are deliberately keyed differently: the bases (P20d and P22d) have different locating tabs, and 9006 halogen bulbs are lower wattage (55 W vs 65 W), so a high-beam bulb cannot be fitted in a low-beam socket by mistake. Most halogen-to-LED kits are therefore sold as '9005/9006'. ShinVea treats them as one model that fits both sockets. On some vehicles the plastic tabs or the dust cap still need checking, so test-fit one bulb per vehicle model before a bulk installation. For high beam (9005), choose a high-output model such as BT150 or DT150. For low beam (9006), a clean cut-off matters more than raw power, and compact designs such as the Q58 or MINI suit tight housings.
